Coaching Roles Available

Louisiana Flag Football is currently accepting interest for the following coaching roles:

  • Flag Football Head Coaches

  • Flag Football Assistant Coaches

  • Cheerleading Coaches

Coaching needs may vary by season, age division, and registration numbers.

What We Look for in Coaches

We are looking for coaches who are:

  • Positive with kids

  • Reliable and organized

  • Good communicators

  • Respectful toward parents, players, referees, and league staff

  • Willing to follow league rules and procedures

  • Focused on player development

  • Able to create a safe and supportive team environment

You do not have to be a professional coach to make an impact. The most important qualities are commitment, attitude, communication, and willingness to lead the right way.

Coach Responsibilities

Louisiana Flag Football coaches are expected to:

  • Communicate with parents after teams are formed

  • Schedule and run team practices

  • Teach age-appropriate football fundamentals

  • Promote teamwork and sportsmanship

  • Follow league rules and game-day procedures

  • Manage the team sideline during games

  • Respect referees and league staff

  • Help maintain a positive parent and player experience

  • Attend required coach meetings when scheduled

Head coaches are also expected to help ensure their team is organized, informed, and prepared throughout the season.

Coach Support

Louisiana Flag Football provides coaches with league structure and support to help them succeed.

Coaches may receive:

  • Team roster information

  • Game schedule

  • League rules and expectations

  • Coach meeting information

  • Team equipment when applicable

  • Communication guidance

  • Support from league leadership throughout the season

Our goal is to give coaches the information and structure they need to lead confidently.

Background Check Requirement

All approved coaches must complete any required background check or screening process before coaching.

This helps protect players, families, and the league while maintaining a safe youth sports environment.

Additional coach requirements may vary by season.

Coaching Commitment

Coaching usually includes:

  • Weekly team practices

  • Saturday game days during the season

  • Parent communication

  • Coach meetings when scheduled

  • Championship weekend availability

Practice schedules are typically coordinated by each team’s head coach after teams are formed.

After your form is submitted, Louisiana Flag Football will review coaching needs by division and contact approved coaches with next steps.

Coach registration does not automatically guarantee a coaching position. Final coaching assignments depend on league needs, division numbers, background check completion, and approval by Louisiana Flag Football.
